iwis antriebssysteme GmbH & Co.KG (Hall 25, Stand B26) will launch its new FLEXON® hinged-slat chains and MatTop chains made of DuPont™ Delrin® acetal resin at Motion, Drive & Automation (Hanover, Germany, 20-24 April 2009). The polymer chains are the Munich-based company’s response to market requirements for materials handling systems which can help prevent contamination, as well as being energy efficient and easy to maintain.

An important issue for the future, not least in terms of sustainability and resource-economy, will be mechanical recycling of PET containers. For this purpose, Krones AG will at the Ipack-Ima ´9, international trade fair for packaging technology and food/beverage processing, be exhibiting its concept for compact-sized PET bottle-to-bottle recycling systems, aimed at both bottlers and converters, for making beverage-quality PET from used PET material.

DSM Engineering Plastics and RESINEX BMY have entered into a distribution agreement, to join forces in the market development and sales of DSM Engineering Plastics resins in Turkey.

The move is designed to strengthen the position of DSM Engineering Plastics in Turkey, where the company already operates its own sales team and has as a distribution agreement with Eurotec. As such, this agreement is in line with DSM’s corporate strategy to focus on new and emerging markets – as defined in Vision 2010, the corporate blueprint for future development of the company.

Within his skills as Sales Director, he will be in charge of Sales & Marketing for the European Market promoting extrusion lines designed & manufactured by Tecno Coating Engineering Srl.

SAS Automation introduces a heavy-duty pneumatic toggle clamp called the HDC (Photo). This toggle clamp is specifically designed for harsh manufacturing environments demanding superior clamping power. The >SAS< HDC clamp has an over-center locking design that requires return air pressure to open -- making it ideal for holding and managing heavy and bulky parts. Processors will appreciate the consistent gripping forces when performing secondary operations including degating, fabricating, and machining.

Robert Burzler (44) was appointed Director Sales & Marketing at injection molding machine manufacturer Ferromatik Milacron at the beginning of this year. Four sales teams operate under his management, each responsible for specific countries. A fifth sales team will provide sales support and is responsible for the shipment of machines. Also the marketing sector now falls within his remit.

Moulders can cut cycle time for PBT parts up to 30 percent with new super-fast grades of DuPont™ Crastin® PBT thermoplastic polyester. Designated Crastin® SF, the new resins come in non-reinforced form and in reinforced versions with 15 or 30 percent glass fibre.

TSM Control Systems, the Ireland based ancillary equipment provider for the plastics industry, has added new features to its existing vacuum loading system, facilitating simple installation and easy expansion.

The innovative TSM vacuum-loading system is typically made up of a central VAC350 Vacuum Sequencer (or CP2000), a centralized vacuum pump station, dust filtration (with integral blow-back cleaning) and individual self-cleaning vacuum loaders (situated on top of the material reservoir bins).
